What is a Coilovers?
A coilovers is a pricier alternative to lowering springs or performance shocks. Coilovers are different from your car’s stock coil springs and shock absorbers in the fact that they include both coil springs and shocks into a single unit. A coilovers often consists of four coilovers (for the four corners of the car).
What are Three Reasons to Upgrade?
Track day racing may overwhelm or quickly wear down your stock springs and shocks, so you should consider equipping your 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe with coilovers like this one if you plan to keep taking your car to the track. This kit is made for road racing, so it will do a better job of handling the full-throttle launches, abrupt braking, and sharp, high-speed turns that you will make on the track. The coilovers in this kit have beefier springs with more aggressive spring rates. Their shocks, made from 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum, are also stouter and more brutal, with a monotube design helps to dissipate heat faster. Their shocks also have shock valving technology and a shorter shock stroke. As a result, these coilovers deliver sharper and more controlled handling.
With these coilovers, you will also have the benefit of being able to adjusting the ride height and driving characteristics of your car. The kit is fashioned to provide up to 36 levels of adjustment, so you can configure to deliver the ride height you need. For example, when you intend to drive through an area with bumps, potholes, or uneven roads, you can set the coilovers to a higher ride-height setting. These levels of adjustment also affect the car’s ride comfort and handling. The higher the ride-height setting, the softer the ride, and vice versa, so you can also adjust these coilovers to deliver your preferred handling/ride comfort characteristics.
Balance is vital for any vehicle, especially when using it for racing or track-day performance driving. The springs and shocks of these VERSION RR ROAD RACE coilovers are perfectly matched. So they work together seamlessly, distributing weight way more evenly between opposite corners of the car than your stock spring and shock setup. As a result, they deliver better control and composure when cornering or driving at high speeds.

KSport Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2008-2010 (2.0L Turbo) Version RR Coilover System
Part # CHY150-RR
Fits: Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2008-2010 (2.0L Turbo)
Ksport Version RR coilover System is built specifically for road racing only. Aggressive rates and valving are chosen for maximum handling and performance with acute reaction and responsiveness. Integrated with 36 levels of damping adjustment, simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment, lightweight aluminum mounts, and pillow ball upper mounts on some applications. (Race use only.)
36 levels of damping adjustment allow you to fine tune the ride to your handling and comfort needs. The damping adjusts compression and rebound simultaneously for ease of adjustment. Pillow ball top mounts in the front and rear on some applications allow you to maintain vehicle manufacturer suspension geometry design. The pillow ball top mounts also allow you a more direct feel for solid driver response. Camber adjustment via the Pillow-ball Mount is available for certain aplications, allowing camber adjustment without an additional "Camber Kit."
Most applications utilize an adjustable lower mount, which means you adjust height without losing suspension travel like some other coilover designs do. With the mounts and most pieces of the coilover being designed for 6061 billet aluminum the kit is lightweight, durable, and rust resistant. The steel shock body is electroplated with zinc to resist rust and the elements. The valving of each set is matched to the springs installed for unmatched ride quality and reliability.
The Ksport system uses a Monotube design in which the oil and gas are separated within the cylinder. When compared to twin tube designs the Monotube dissipates heat better, allows finer damping adjustments, and requires a more expensive design process. Aeration and cavitation are a lot less common in a Monotube design, which results in a better ride.
